Dear Parents,

I would like to thank Mrs. Files for compiling the children’s precious notes into a beautiful album for Mrs. Lagace and for me. Thank all of you for the flowers, gifts, candy, gift cards, and warm wishes. The children loved all the special treats and love notes they received on their appreciation day. We are blessed.

Although we have a fairly calm week ahead, next Monday is our 100^th day celebration and Tuesday is our Valentine party! Please contact our room moms if you want to help or contribute. On Monday we will have outside play from 12:45 to 1:30 for 100^th Day and Tuesday we will have our Valentine party from 1:45 to 2:45.

This week’s reading comprehension assignment “The Fox and the Bird.” is due on or before Friday. Please look for the February reading center sign-up sheet posted outside the classroom. Please work with your child on turning in neat work that is legible and carefully colored. Some children are forming bad habits in their printing. Please do not allow them to rush and turn in sloppy work. They are still at the age where they need a parent to check their homework. Continue to read for 15 minutes every day; I cannot stress enough how important reading is to their future academic success.

Our job and career unit was a big success. I would like to thank Mrs. Holmes, Mr. Alescio, Mr. Aguinid Mr. Vrabel, Mr. Carlos, Dr. Chakbazof, Mr. Nigro, and Mrs. Pohopien for speaking to the children about their careers. The children learned about marketing, pest control, karate instructors, psychologists, electricians, doctors, bankers, chefs and college professors! Thank you to all the parents who took time out of their busy schedules to speak to the children.
