OUR OPEN HOUSE IS JANUARY 29 – Please invite your friends!
Please save the date and invite your friends to our Open House on Sunday, January 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We cannot wait to show off our students’ good work and share all the great things that go on in our school with others. We would really like to increase our enrollment. The more students that we register, the less tuition has to increase. Please bring new, perspective students with you when you come to Open House on Sunday, January 29th!
We are also having our First Annual Art Show in the Board Room of the hall after the 5:00 p.m. mass on Saturday, January 28 and Sunday, January 29 after all the masses. Please stop by to see what our creative minds have done this year.
We need parent volunteers for this art show Sunday morning and after the Life Teen Mass. If you are able to help, please contact Becky Sakovitch in Day Care.
The parish will be hosting a Ministries Fair on that same day. If you are interested in joining a ministry, this would be a good time to sign up. The Ministry Fair will be held in the Parish Hall. Student Council will be selling donuts and coffee.
DONUTS WITH DAD – Tuesday, January 31!
The P.T.O. is having their annual “Donuts with Dad” event the morning of January 31. Please save the date.
CATHOLIC SCHOOL WEEK IS JANUARY 29 TO FEBRUARY 3
January 31 – Parent Appreciation Day
February 1 – Teacher and Staff Appreciation Day
February 2 – Students Appreciation Day
February 3 – Religious and Volunteer Appreciation Day
We are looking for a couple parents to watch each classroom during an extended lunch on Wednesday, February 1st from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. so that the teachers and staff may enjoy a special lunch. Please call the office if you can help.
Thursday, February 2 is Students Appreciation Day. Parents should send LETTERS OR CARDS ONLY to the office for your child, letting them know how much you love and appreciate them. Please do not send flowers, candy, or gifts as they will not be passed out during school. Gifts may be given out at home after school. Please remember to send a note. The children are disappointed when they do not receive a note from their parents. Teachers try to write a note for these students; however, it is not the same as a special note from mom or dad.
Friday, February 3 at the 8:30 a.m. Liturgy we will honor our parish religious, Fr. John, and Fr. Mike. We will also honor parent volunteers who do over and above the required 40 hours of service and ask that you join us at the Liturgy. We will have refreshments right after the Liturgy in the faculty lounge. If you are a volunteer who will attend the liturgy, please fill out the form at the end of the letter or call the office to let us know.

DID YOU KNOW? Protect your children from accidental poisoning
From fertilizer to antifreeze and medicines to makeup, poisonous items show up throughout our homes. By following some common-sense guidelines regarding these items, parents can help prevent kids ingesting poisonous substances by accident. For instance, Store all medications — prescription and nonprescription — in a locked cabinet, far from kids’ reach. Even items that seem harmless, such as mouthwash, can be extremely dangerous if ingested in large quantities by children. Just because cabinets are up high doesn't mean kids can’t get their hands on what’s in them — they’ll climb up (using the toilet and countertops) to get to items in the medicine cabinet. For more tips, please visit the Household Safety section at: www.kidshealth.org. For particular help, you may call Assistance Ministry at (213) 637-7650.
