Virtus & Fingerprinting

All Faculty, Staff, parent volunteers, or any individual who directly supervises minors for any St. Dorothy Catholic School or Church event must be VIRTUS Certified and Fingerprinted in the database of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles (ADLA).

Training at St. Dorothy

Virtus Certification and Re-Certification classes are offered monthly at St. Dorothy.  All classes take place on the first Monday of every month (with few exceptions). See the 2025-2026 calendar in the image below.
 
  • New Certification Classes - 2026: Apr 6
  • Re-Certification Classes - 2026: May 4, June 1

Training at Other Locations

To find a Virtus session at another parish or school:
  1. Go to 'Virtus' link below.
  2. Select “Los Angeles – San Gabriel Region (Archdiocese)”
  3. On the next page, select Session Type “Protecting God’s Children for Adults” to filter. (Keeping the Promise Alive is recertification only.) Make sure you read the red fine print to make sure it is open to other parishes/schools. Many of the sessions do not allow online registration, so you may need to call the church.
Virtus training is free. Virtus certification must be renewed every 4 years. 
 
All Fingerprinting must take place at a Los Angles Archdiocese sponsored Fingerprinting event.  The schedule for Fingerprinting throughout the archdiocese can be found using the link below. 
LIVESCAN/FINGERPRINTING
UPCOMING FREE FINGERPRINT SESSION at ST. DOROTHY:
No sessions are scheduled.

FREE ADLA EVENTS

Scroll down to “Fingerprinting Calendars” to look for locations and dates. You will need to call the provided number to schedule an appointment and they are first come, first served. These fingerprint sessions are free.

PRIVATE LIVESCAN

If you cannot find an appointment convenient to you, you can alternately do a Livescan at UPS/Postal Annex/etc. for a fee (usually ~$25-35).
  1. Go to 'Fingerprinting' link below.
  2. Scroll down to "Applicant Questionnaire" and follow the directions to receive an official, personalized Livescan form (they usually reply on the same day).
  3. Print 2 copies and bring the form to the location you choose. You can look up Livescan locations here: https://oag.ca.gov/fingerprints/locations?county=Los%20Angeles
  4. Provide a copy or notify Mrs. La Rocca that you have completed your ADLA fingerprints.
